Everybody has their own favorite list of Christmas movies. Here is my top 10 from 10 to 1 …

10. One Magic Christmas

One of the most under rated Christmas movies. This is a real tear jerker. It’s about an angel who must show a mother the true meaning of Christmas. It’s not just presents and materialistic things, but the people she cares about. I love this movie, but it can be hard to watch as there are some depressing scenes in it. However, the overall message is uplifting message and there are some truly great performances in it.

9. Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town

This a a great little classic TV movie about a mailman who reveals the origin of Santa Claus. The young Santa becomes the hero by breaking the Burgermeister Meisterburger’s law against toys and giving them out for free. It’s a little strange, but this TV movie still holds the test of time and will still make you laugh.

8. Frosty the Snowman

One of my favorite classic TV movies, where a living snowman and a little girl struggle to elude a greedy magician who is after the snowman’s magic hat. This is a great little show and a real tear jerker for a little kid. You can skip Frosty Returns as it’s just not nearly on the same level as this show.

7. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

One of the best Christmas movies ever. How can you forget the story about “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Teased about his red-nose as a child, Rudolph runs away from Santa’s village and makes new friends along the way but also encounters the frightening Bumble snow-beast! Then, when a fog comes up to threaten Santa’s Christmas Eve flight, it’s only Rudolph’s nose that can save the day! Who doesn’t love this movie? This is a classic movie with a great message and tunes that will get you in the Christmas spirit.

6. Home Alone

It’s a hilarious movie about an eight year-old, who is accidentally left behind while his family flies to France for Christmas, has to defend his home against moronic burglars. This movie was hilarious from beginning to end. Some of the funniest scenes in the movie were with Uncle Frank, who would steal everything in sight and called Kevin “a little jerk.”

5. Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

The Grinch hatches a plan to wipe out Christmas for the Whos of Whoville only to learns a valuable lesson about what’s important in life. This is a great short film and had some hilarious sequences in it. My favorite parts of it are the conflicts between the tiny little dog, Max, and the Grinch.

4. Miracle on 34th Street

This move is about a nice old man who claims to be Santa Claus. Everyone of course thinks he’s insane and they want to institutionalize him, but a young lawyer decides to defend him by arguing in court that he is the real thing. Another classic Christmas movie that will have make you feel all warm inside.

3. It’s a Wonderful Life

Just in case you’ve been living under a rock, the movie is about angel who helps a frustrated businessman, George Bailey, by showing what life would had been like if he never existed. This is probably the best Christmas movie ever made, but it’s just not that funny so it’s 3rd on my list. However, it’s a great movie and really makes you think about what you’re doing with your life and how much what you do affects the people around you. It’s an amazing and uplifting story and a must watch movie during Christmas time.

2. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

My # 2 pick is another hilarious Christmas movie. It’s about the Griswold family’s plans for a big family Christmas predictably turn into a big disaster. This is also my favorite of the National Lampoon’s series. The best part of this movie is watching Clark Griswold decorate his house and watching him trying to get the lights to work. However, there were a bunch more hilarious scenes including electrocuted cat, dog/squirrel chase, saucer sled incident, and more. Too funny!

1. A Christmas Story (Ultimate Collector’s Edition) (1983)

The best movie ever! This is hands down the funniest Christmas movie ever and it’s my #1 pick. I’ve watched this move over 100 times and still makes me laugh every time. We keep it on almost 24/7 during Christmas time. Warning, be careful watching it because you might just “Shoot your eye out.”

That’s it. My list of Christmas movies that I can’t live without. These are the ones that I have to see every Christmas no matter what.

So, what’s YOUR favorite list of Christmas movies?
